Subscriptions

Here at The Manual, we’ve been working on subscriptions.

It’s taking a long time to get it right, but making subscriptions as smooth as possible is one of the most important things for us. Forms are a necessary but boring tool, and we want to go the extra mile to make them less painful.

Some of our favorite bits from the checkout experience:

— After you load the page, the country dropdown input is pre-populated based on your IP address. This is especially great for mobile users that don’t have to endlessly scroll to find their country. Besides, if that fails, the countries we most frequently ship to appear first.

— When you’ve filled up all required shipping address fields, or when you change one of them, we recalculate the shipping cost for your address and update it live. This means you don't need to manually submit the form or press an “Update Shipping” button.

It won’t belong before we send this our private beta testers.
