An idea for attribution

Here's a quick idea I had. I always try to attribute great links I found to the source that pointed me to it, but I sometimes forget where I found a link.

What if browsers built a small chiclet into the address bar that contained the referrer? It could reference the person who shared it on Twitter, a particular service, referring website, etc. If you decide to share from there (which I often do anyway by copying the URL), the share dialog would automatically add an editable attribution.
