The storage usage progress bar is the most important element on the page. If that gets close to full, then someone needs to add more storage to the system. (All files had to be stored on university systems for security reasons so an unlimited cloud storage solution was out of the question.) There are safeguards in place so it's not necessary to pay attention to the page, but it is a helpful early warning.

The last 12 months shows overall file upload trends for each month of the last year. Because it's a university system, there are obvious dips in summer and around the holidays.
