We started this yearly tradition in 2009. This is my fantasy UI for the 2012 interface bay at encide. There were some incredible submissions this year, thanks to all who participated! Check it out live: http://www.enci.de/2012/

Credits: [1] The orange, glowing "feet" are inspired by Xanthic's old website (google him!). [2] The inner mesh texture was created by @axertion. [3] The planet Earth photo is from Stock.xchng. I manually sketched and composed everything else in Illustrator and Photoshop.

Interesting notes: The stars seen through the window are from the first time I ever used Photoshop back in 2005. My first time using Photoshop, I followed Greg Martin's star field tutorial. I save all of my source files, so I decided to try something interesting with an early artifact. I found it rather poetic to recycle my first pixels into a new creation. Also, this was my first time sketching a conceptual interface by hand and turning it into something a bit closer to reality. I hope you enjoy it!
