Hipsterize my Village

I was asked by our community official to make something he could use as head of the official community newspaper as well as our road sign at the entrance of our village.

Most houses in the village are frame houses or were built in the 50s. So I thought it could be nice to do something that is inspired by this age. Means using geometric shapes and hand drawn pictograms. To avoid the 50s smugness I used the bright colors of the rainbow.

The pictrograms are following:
Rose: the village is known for its 10.000 roses
Coat of arms: obvious that it has to be in there
Church: the roof is very special
Brigde: there is a beautiful bridge over the river rhein going to France
Water: many many lakes and the river rhein
Stars: the village is part of the "Ried". It's a small area framed by the three ried villages. the stars also refer to europe
