SportCafe logo rebound

Tossing ideas around for a simpler version of www.sportcafe.ca logo. The logo has to be simple yet powerful under every variations of its output whether it is online or on clothing, billboards, paper, stickers, etc.
(Not sure about stripping out the laurels and the red flame as they give more personality and individuality to the brand...)

Given all that, what's your pick? This rebound or the original?
