4-Way Icon Follow Rollover Effect

For our latest theme we've developed a custom thumbnail rollover effect. The effect was designed to give the user the feeling that the link icon was following their mouse pointer throughout the portfolio grid.

The effect works by sensing which side the mouse has entered the image area and the link icon then animates into the center, starting from that side. Likewise when the mouse pointer leaved the thumbnail area, the icon follows it out in the same direction the mouse left. When used across a grid of images, the "follow" effect is best observed.
