Safari Extension: URLpop

Hey guys,

URLpop is a project I've wanted to get started for months now and is currently very much just an idea and a couple of comps.

I'm a minimalist at heart and thus love browsing Safari with all bars/toolbars hidden. However, one piece of functionality I sorely miss is the ability to scan the status bar to see where the url I'm curious about will take me.

I know there's a few other options out there (http://ultimatestatusbar.com comes to mind) but none work/look/feel the way I'd like them to.

It would be activated simply by hovering over a link for 1 second (made that number up now, will have to test for ideal timing). Currently, I have plans for two display options that can be toggled in settings with a light and dark version of each:
1. Basic: gives you the title of the page + and expandable, full-link
2. Preview: the same as Basic, but ads a preview of the page (as shown)

View the attachment for previews of both.

Remember this is very early and still just an idea at this point. I have a few plans and things to play with, but want to keep it simple and sexy.

It's late and I need to get some Zzz's :) Will post more info in the AM for those interested.

I don't have the chops to code a Safari Extension but if anyone would like to take a stab at it, I'd love to get this thing built!

Feedback is appreciated!
