Union Cover Carstensen

I'm working on cover designs for a rebranding of UNION, the party magazine of the CDU, Germany's ruling party.

I'm not a member of the party myself, the work was commissioned by Burda, a german publishing house.

I think the party has quite a good CI, I like their font Kievit, and the orange is a very progressive colour for a conservative political party. It often doesn't shine through in publications though, because it is always mixed with colour photography. That's why I decided to keep the rest in b/w so it will stand out more.
