Here’s a preliminary look at the Hot view.

The design takes plenty of obvious inspiration from Fever’s iPhone-optimized web interface. It’s not quite done yet, as it’s missing things like disclosure indicators (for viewing the items and/or contributing items), and the feed favicons. The colors and borders definitely need some tweaking too, and I’d love to hear some feedback regarding that.

I’ve been making an effort to test every screen in both portrait and landscape as I design and develop it, since I want landscape to look just as great as portrait does, not feel like an afterthought. Also, keeping landscape in mind from the beginning should help me with the iPad once I get to that.
